Learning language through movement - This approach is getting more and more popular and is showing great results with children learning languages. One version of this approach is playing pantomime.
For this game one person thinks of a word or phrase in German and shows it with the own body. The others have to guess what is being shown. For example the word "Schifahren" (skiing) or the phrase "Ins Fettnäpfchen treten" (put one's foot in one's mouth) can be shown through pantomime.
An easier version for younger children would be to allow them to use objects to show their word or to point to the objects or other people (and their body parts). Usually this is not allowed when playing pantomime.
In our course one of the participants demonstrated the word "Igel" (hedgehog). Very well done!
